Can anyone explain to me why the water from the drinking fountain in my new band room tastes like pencil shavings?Not that I go around tasting pencil shavings, but it definitely has that aftertaste. Yummy!
At least I'm getting my fiber for the day! :)

That is pretty funny. Is it brand new? Maybe you just have to run it for a while to get the nasty stuff out! Do your students feel the same way--or is it just you? You crack me RIGHT UP! Bring some water from home maybe. Then you'd KNOW it didn't have Band Geek Germs on it! :P
One day, right after we moved in, I taped down the button you push to get the water to come out. I let it run all day. (Wasteful, I know...)
It wasn't any better after that.
My students and I all agree that it tastes awful. What to do, what to do?
